How can I access Roy Data?
Your claim-free years are recorded in Roy Data's database. Claim-free years are years in which you have not claimed any damage with your car insurer. Each year that you do not claim, you build up one claim-free year. As long as you do not make a claim with your insurer, you build up claim-free years during the term of your car insurance policy. With these claim-free years you will receive a premium discount on your car insurance. The more claim-free years you build up, the more premium discount you will receive. When taking out a new car insurance policy, you have to enter your claim-free years. Not sure how many claim-free years you have? Then you can view this information in Roy Data. On Geennee.nl we explain how you can do that.

Viewing claim-free years in Roy Data
Roy Data is the central database of the EPS Foundation. This is where your claim-free years are registered. Claim-free years used to be demonstrated with an expulsion statement. A termination statement is a written document that you receive from the insurer after termination of your car insurance. However, since September 1, 2007, insurers have been working with a digital system: Roy Data. When you terminate your car insurance, the insurer puts your accrued claim-free years in Roy Data. When you take out a new car insurance policy, the new insurer consults Roy Data for your claim-free years. They then add these to your new policy. This cannot be done with the claim-free years from a current car insurance policy. All insurers have access to Roy Data. You can also see your claim-free years yourself in Roy Data.

How do I know how many claim-free years I have?
Your insurer is required to let you know annually how many claim-free years you have. Your accrued claim-free years are therefore shown on the policy document you receive each year. You can also request your claim-free years from your car insurer or intermediary. Claim-free years built up during a current car insurance policy are not yet visible in Roy Data. This is because claim-free years are only put into Roy Data after the insurance policy is terminated. Until then, they are stuck in your current car insurance policy. For these claim-free years, you can contact your current insurer.
You can view older claim-free years in Roy Data. You can submit a request for this via the EPS website. There you will find the right of inspection form. You can send this form digitally, together with a copy of your proof of identity. You will not be given access to the data immediately. It often takes a while before the application is processed. In most cases this takes a maximum of 28 days.
How long can I view my data in Roy Data?
Claims-free years do not remain valid indefinitely. After canceling your car insurance, your claim-free years are valid for 3 years with most insurers. This differs per insurer. With some insurers this is only 2 years, but with others again 4 or even 5 years. So always check when taking out your car insurance how long claim-free years are valid with your insurer. So you know how long your claim-free years remain in the Roy Data register.
